With all the things one can do to create a Hawaiian style wedding, your wedding should reflect you and your unique and individual style. Here we have listed and emphasized many of the uniquely Hawaiian components to a marriage ceremony on Maui, but all the world's other wedding customs are available. We believe the key to a dream wedding here in paradise is to combine your cultural traditions with Hawaii's traditions.

Getting married in Maui's paradise can mean having a lovely bridal bouquet made with fragrant tropical flowers or the elegance of the more traditional flowers found elsewhere in the world. The choice is yours. You will find that all packages include a tuberose wedding lei for the bride and groom. A custom in a Hawaiian marriage ceremony is for the bride and groom to exchange leis. A lei signifies love and aloha. To exchange leis during the wedding ceremony further signifies your exchange of love and aloha. A traditional groom lei is made with the Maile vine and Ilima flower. You may also want to consider leis for your attendants or special guests, such as your parents, if they are traveling with you to Maui. In Hawaii, a lei is used where a boutonniere or corsage is worn on the mainland. Again, the choice is yours. In addition to a bridal bouquet, or as an alternative to the bouquet, is the haku lei, a traditional Hawaiian head lei, which can be worn by both the bride and groom. The haku lei is a perfect choice for the flower girl and bride's maids. The selection of flowers varies somewhat according to growing seasons. Be sure to ask your wedding planner about the availability of your favorite flowers for your wedding date. Select the size and type of arrangement you want, and then tell us what colors and flowers you desire. Your flower selection will be customized to meet your needs. You can have a small, yet a distinct wedding cake. We use the award winning Maui Wedding Cakes bakery. We are showing just a few samples of the multitude of styles and decorations you can find in Hawaiian wedding cakes. Most wedding cakes in Hawaii are decorated with flowers rather than the more conventional wedding cake toppers. Your wedding cake can be decorated with the same types of flowers that are in your bridal bouquet. Sea shells and coral are also used on Maui wedding cakes, as well as a multitude of Hawaiiana trinkets and figurines. An alternative is to have a cake in the shape of an aloha shirt, turtle, surfboard, or you tell us. Select a wedding cake that is uniquely you to complete the wedding of your dreams. If it is not a cake you want, have wedding cookies and take home a box to share with your family and friends upon your return home. Of course, the choice is yours. As elsewhere in the world, all of the traditional cake flavors, fillings, and icing selections are available. Still though, you may want to consider one Hawaii's exotic tropical fillings such as lilikoi (passion fruit) mousse, haupia (coconut) pudding, macadamia nut, hala kahiki (pineapple), or guava filling. PS ~ In Hawaii, the bride and groom give each other a bite of cake to symbolize sharing life's bounty, but they never smash the cake in each other's face, that would be considered disrespectful and not in the spirit of Aloha. There are a number of things to consider concerning the serving of your wedding cake whether it be on the beach, reception hall, or a restaurant. We will discuss this with you before finalizing your decision. If you are having wedding or reception at a hotel or resort, the wedding cake must be ordered from their catering department. It is usually more costly to order a cake through a resort. A cake at the beach or a garden will require table linens, cake knife and server, plates, and forks; ask for pricing. It is easy to incorporate a celebratory toast with a cake for a nominal additional charge. Photographers are cheaper by the dozen, but the very best are few and far between. We work with only Maui's best wedding and event photographers and videographers. The photographers and videographers we work with know the wedding venues and locations. They know weddings and how to get the most intimate moments, yet they are not intrusive. You will forget they are there. Once you have selected the photographer and/or videographer, next comes the question of how much do you need. Often, the smallest still package and video package is enough for the solo couple or couple with one or two attendants and a simple ceremony. The more attendants and the more features you have in your wedding activities, the more photos and video you will want. Do you want to capture the private moments in preparing for the ceremony? Do you want to preserve the reception? To include still photography, select package #2. You may upgrade the number of images and time by selecting one of the following options. The cost of photos and videos is mostly determined by the time involved by the professional in the studio, as well as onlocation.
